Professional Development for Educators

You are there for them, we are here for you!

Our professional development workshops are designed to support the educators who are asked to do more than teach. They are asked to hold space, de-escalate crisis, and respond to the emotional needs of students every day. It’s hard, and the weight it carries within our educators is often not talked about. We offer practical, compassionate tools that help educators feel more prepared—not to become therapists, but to feel grounded, confident, and capable when emotional challenges arise in the classroom.

Creating Safe and Supportive School Environments: Promoting Belonging and Positive Climate

This professional development session is designed to help educators and school leaders build a positive, respectful, and supportive school climate where every student feels a sense of belonging and safety, key components for academic success and emotional well-being.

Students thrive when they feel connected to their school community. This training equips staff with practical strategies to reduce conflict, encourage positive peer relationships, and respond effectively to behavioral concerns in a way that supports student growth.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Promote a sense of connection and belonging for all students

  • Recognize and respond to early signs of social isolation, peer conflict, and bullying

  • Use clear, compassionate language to foster respectful classroom communication

  • Apply proactive, student-centered behavior support strategies to reduce reactive discipline

  • Create classroom routines and expectations that support emotional safety and inclusivity

  • Collaborate as a staff to strengthen policies and practices that support a positive school culture

This workshop offers realistic, actionable tools that can be applied immediately in K–12 settings. It is well-suited for schools working to strengthen student engagement, reduce discipline referrals, and create an environment where students and staff can do their best work together.

Using DBT-Informed Strategies in the Classroom: Supporting Emotional Regulation and Resilience

This session introduces educators to the core principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)—a structured, skills-based approach originally developed to help individuals manage intense emotions, improve interpersonal effectiveness, and build distress tolerance.

While DBT is a clinical treatment model, its foundational skills are highly applicable in educational settings, especially with students struggling with emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, or high levels of anxiety and stress.

This training will equip educators with DBT-informed tools such as:

  • Mindfulness techniques to improve attention and classroom focus

  • Emotion regulation strategies to help students identify and manage strong feelings

  • Distress tolerance tools to support students in navigating frustration or disappointment

  • Interpersonal effectiveness skills to enhance peer relationships and reduce conflict

Educators will learn how to integrate these skills into classroom routines and language in developmentally appropriate ways, helping students build emotional resilience while maintaining a supportive and structured environment.

This training is especially helpful for teams working with middle and high school students, as well as educators managing classrooms with students who present with behavioral or social-emotional challenges.

Trauma-Informed Practices in the Classroom: Understanding Student Behavior Through a Compassionate Lens

This session introduces educators to the core principles of trauma-informed care and how adverse experiences affect student behavior, focus, and emotional regulation. By learning how trauma presents in the classroom, staff can shift from focusing on the behaviors and move towards an understanding on what may be underlying the behaviors.

This training will help educators:

  • Recognize signs of trauma in student behavior and emotional responses

  • Respond with empathy while maintaining appropriate structure and boundaries

  • Create predictable, safe environments that reduce reactivity and promote trust

  • Avoid re-traumatization through discipline or communication practices

  • Understand how trauma impacts learning, engagement, and peer interaction

This workshop is ideal for any educator or school staff member working directly with students, especially those in high-needs environments or with increased behavioral disruptions. It empowers staff to support students more effectively without taking on the role of a mental health provider.

Building Resilience and Mental Wellness in Educators: Strengthening the Foundation Behind the Classroom

Educators are often expected to support others while navigating constant stress, shifting demands, and emotional exhaustion—yet their own wellness is rarely prioritized. This training focuses on giving educators the tools and strategies to protect their own well-being and stay grounded in a high-demand profession.

This session equips participants to:

  • Recognize signs of burnout and chronic stress in themselves and colleagues

  • Develop realistic, sustainable self-care practices that fit within the school day

  • Improve emotional regulation and boundary-setting under pressure

  • Reconnect with professional purpose and personal motivation

  • Promote a healthier, more supportive school culture for staff and students alike

This session is appropriate for individual schools or entire districts looking to invest in staff retention, morale, and the long-term sustainability of their educators. When teachers feel supported, the whole school thrives.
